C o r a F l o r a was born in Sarnia Ontario. Her songs are guided by her soothing heartfelt voice that follows the Music across landscapes of powerful melodies, profound lyrics, rhythmic guitar, sparkling piano, and lush harmonies layered intuitively.
With the name Court Lajoie she released her first album, Falling (2006), an intimate acoustic look into the soul of falling in and through romantic love, as well as the inner struggles of growing up. Her second album, Mindshift (2008), reflects living in dreary Scotland for a year, where her mind shifted from personal concerns to environmental responsibility and understanding life from a greater perspective.
C o r a's third album, Flourish (2009), is inspired by traveling the west coast of Canada, beginning to develop a spiritual relationship with the natural kingdom, and unfolding the tender petals of her innermost feelings and being. Like nature the album is gentle, wild, powerful, and humble. All the physical CDs are handmade, hand numbered, and unique with eco-friendly packaging.
After a deep journey of healing darkness and sexual abuse from her past, C o r a recorded her newest album Victoria (2011), a collection of songs that can comfort, inspire, enlighten souls on similar journeys.
Music is a mysterious magical power that Cora honours, and her live performances come with an energetic healing intent for those who are open. She shares intimate details of her experience as they relate to the songs, sings from an honest emotional place, and creates a harmonic healing universe within her songs. She is in the process of creating visual arts to bring the live performances to a new dimension.
